IB Learner Profile - Caring:

  • We show empathy, compassion and respect. We have a commitment to service, and we act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around us.
  • During the months of November and December, advisories have been exploring this IB learner characteristic through our End Hunger Drive, Veteran's Day activities, and this week through an advisory service activity.
  • December 2 and 3 Students will have the opportunity to make “no sew blankets” for the Calvert Foster Care Closet, Project Echo and holiday cards for the Calvert Nursing Home during their Club time.

You are invited!:

Students will share music and art during two Winter Arts Showcases in December. Friday, December 13 will feature middle and upper school students in solo and small ensemble performances, and Monday, December 16 will feature music ensembles and visual art. Each event will take place during the school day at 2:30 in the theater, and parents are invited. We hope to see you there!

Model United Nations:

An email was sent out with deadlines and details for attending this conference in January. If you are interested in attending and did not receive this email on November 22, please let me know ASAP!

CAS Trip:

  • CAS stands for Creativity, Activity, and Service, and is the IB program for service learning.
  • Each year, students have taken a CAS trip, and this year, Ms. Trott has jumped in to organize, to keep the tradition alive!
  • Please see the attached form for all of the details!
  • Trip to Lisbon, Portugal.

Upcoming:

  • December 11, Upper School Sip n Dip. This fun event, hosted by the CPA, includes donuts, hot chocolate, and a chance to spend time with friends!
  • December 14-15, Robotics Competition (separate email will be sent our to those students involved)
  • December 20, Early Dismissal at 12:20pm. This half day, students will enjoy activities organized by the SGA and Advisory competitions, before heading out for winter break.
  • December 21 - January 5 Winter Break.
  • January 6, Return to School
