Although academic life takes up much of the day, there’s so much more available to students — an environment rich with opportunities to socialize, to get involved, and to develop interests and passions.

Once the academic day is done, the campus comes alive with activity. Students meet with their clubs, spill out onto the fields for athletics, go to their service locations, or to the Black Box Theater for set design or rehearsal.

Black Box Theater

Students enjoy a unique performing arts facility, including dance and acting studios, complete with a recording center, and practice rooms. The theater itself is a large black box with a sophisticated technical infrastructure, comparable to those in many professional houses. The Arts Department puts on notable musicals and plays.  Past performances include You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Almost Maine, An Evening with Allen and Ives, Nuts! The Musical, and more.

Athletics

Our sports program offers an opportunity for students to play and compete, master athletic skills or try a new sport. Whether it’s soccer or cross country in the fall, basketball in the winter, or golf, the program emphasizes not only skills development but sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership.

Model United Nations

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically role-play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. This activity takes place at MUN conferences, which are coordinated by the Upper School Head. At the end of the conferences, outstanding delegates in each committee are recognized and given an award certificate; the Best Delegate in each committee receives a gavel.

National Honor Society

Each fall, membership to the National Honor Society is offered to those students who meet the required standards put forth by the national office in four areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. For the scholarship criterion, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 88 (B+) or higher. Students who meet this criterion are invited to submit a comprehensive resume that outlines their activities, achievements, leadership, and service.

Enrichment Clubs

The Lower School offers enrichment clubs after school on a seasonal basis - fall, winter, and spring. Typically, clubs run for 8-10 weeks and provide a safe, educational environment for your little ones after the school day ends.
