Upper School News

Class Trips:

• September 18 all upper school classes will go on class field trips to various locations in Maryland.
• 9th Grade will require permission slips for Farming 4 Hunger. 9th grade please return by Friday 9/13

Picture Day:

• Picture day will be held Tuesday, September 17 for students in grades 9 - 11. Students are required to wear dress uniform for their fall picture. Please check out this link for questions on what this entails.
• Senior Pictures will be September 27.
• Jostens will email home ordering instructions. No money or order forms are needed on picture day.

Student Government Association (SGA):

• Last week students voted for their Class Representatives. Congratulations to our new SGA members.
• Mark your Calendar - Homecoming Dance is October 19

Upper School Clubs have started:

• Green Team, Chess, Robotics, and Kaleidoscope
• Yearbook Club has also begun and is being led by Mrs. Forgette drawing on her years of experience! Please reach out to me with any questions.

UPCOMING COLLEGE VISITS

College admissions representative visit during lunch and meet in Mrs. Trott's office. This is open to 10th-12th graders. Bring your lunch, meet the regional representative who reads your applications, and learn about the school. This is a great opportunity to hear what different schools have to offer, especially if you are unfamiliar with the school or what you are looking for from a school. I highly encourage students to come to these meetings/opportunities.

College Workshops:

College Workshops are open to students and families 9th-12th grade. For 9-11th it is a time to discuss after Calverton goals and what it will take to attain them. For 2nd semester 11th graders and 1st semester 12th graders it is a time to work on finalizing lists, college essays, supplemental essays, and work on your applications.
